Scope and content
Sub-series consists of photographs of Alaska, documenting the administration of public lands in close proximity to British Columbia and the Yukon. The photographic sub-series was originally compiled from federal sources including various sub-agencies and survey branches of the Department of the Interior, predominantly the Yukon and North West Territories Branch. Some photographs may have been acquired from private sources and independent photographers from the United States and Canada. The sub-series is organized alpha-numerically as follows. AL-8 series consists of photographs documenting scenery in Alaska. Photos of Russel Glacier, the Lynn Canal on the coast of Alaska, and the North East point of Eastcape, Siberia. No photographers are indicated. AL-12 series consists of photographs documenting transportation operations, networks and services between Alaska and Canada. Photos of coastal steamer ships near Skagway, Alaska. No sources or photographers are indicated.
