Sub-series consists of nominal rolls for the militia of the counties of Addington, Carleton, Dundas, Essex, Frontenac, Glengarry, Gore, Grenville, Haldimand, Hastings, Huron, Kent, Lanark, Leeds, Lennox, Lincoln, Middlesex, Norfolk, Northumberland, Oxford, Prescott, Prince Edward, Stormont and York. Volume 31 includes nominal rolls of Capt. John Eakins' company of Rainham, 1831-1832; Walpole Independent Company, 1839- 1842; Toronto Militia Artillery Corps, 1836; Cobourg Volunteer Rifles, 1837; Markham and Vaughan Troop of Volunteer Cavalry, 1837; 2nd Lincoln Infantry Volunteers, 1838; 2nd or Queen's Light Infantry, 1838; 1st St-Catharines Troop of Cavalry, 1838; Bytown Volunteers, 1838; Scots Volunteer Light Infantry, 1838, Royal Foresters, 1838; Major McCormick's Independent Company of Colchester, 1839; and the Newcastle Independent Company, 1839.
