Scope and content
Series consists of the proceedings from three courts martial held in the 1830s. The 1830 court martial proceedings comprise 87 pages concerning an investigation of Captain Edward A. Talbot of the 4th Regiment of Middlesex Militia for failure to attend the annual muster. The proceedings of the 1836 court martial relate to charges brought against Colonel John Covert of the 1st Regiment of Northumberland Militia by Captain Wilson Conger (236 pages). The court martial proceedings from 1838 consists of 136 pages relating to the charges brought against Colonel James Craig, 5th Regiment of Middlesex Militia, for mishandling money, improperly supplying his regiment with arms and equipment, conduct unbecoming an office, etc.
