Scope and content
The series consists of fragmentary records relating to Dr. Henry Mather Hare's medical career in the Bahamas and Harrington Harbour, Quebec. It holds a "Notebook of Medical References" which includes notes on treatment, medical recipes and related information. There is also an "Admission and Discharge Rough Book" which lists the patient's name, age, residence, disease, treatment, dates of admission and discharge, and occasional remarks on race, personality, attitudes, payments, etc. It contains 515 entries for Harrington Harbour, Quebec, 6 March 1905 - 21 May 1906; and seven for Nassau, the Bahamas, 21-24 May 1917. In addition, the series includes a "Cash Book", 31 March 1929 - 1 September 1933, which contains daily records of the payments made by each patient, separately totalled weekly, and carried forward cumulatively to the end of each year.
