Series contains a variety of photographic material including: activities and portraits of Senator Forsey, family, and friends, 1860-1976; photographs of St. John's Harbour, Trinity, Twillingate, Whitbourne Griges, Burgeo, and Holyrood, Nfld., Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia, Mexico, sealing, heading and spletting codfish, buildings, vessels and street scenes, and a portrait of Sir Robert Bond, Premier of Newfoundland. The series also includes a portrait of Dr. Forsey at Lake Louise, Alberta, 1964; the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings, 1874; the Parliament Buildings destroyed by fire, 1916; a bean supper at Rideau Hall, Ottawa, Ontario, 1900; aspects of the public and private life of Forsey, 1904-1976; activities and portraits of members of the Forsey, Bowles, Shaw, and Roberts families, their friends and acquaintances. Series also documents events, places, and individuals associated with the career of Forsey as Director of Research and Special Project Director for the Canadian Labour Congress, and as a member of the Senate of Canada.
