The Winkworth Collection is a superb visual history of the development and growth of Canada from the 16th century to the present, particularly strong on views of the province of Quebec, the Seven Years' War, native life, portraits of prominent individuals, developments in the Canadian west and north, and the history of printmaking in Canada.

Graphic (art): The Collection was received 19 March 2002, unpacked, verified, and checked. 125 prints were returned due to condition or duplication.

Custodial history
Material was acquired by the vendor from a wide variety of individuals, dealers, auction houses, and other sources in Canada, the USA, England, France, Germany, Italy and possibly elsewhere.

ca. 600 watercolours, 8 paintings, ca. 3300 prints, 6 albums containing ca. 100 watercolours, 27 volumes of prints containing ca. 200 prints, 20 miscellaneous items, ca. 30 maps.
