Scope and content
Series consists of records relating to Justices of the Peace and Magistrates. The series includes a register containing a list of magistrates for the Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and British Columbia and a list of Justices of the peace for the Provinces of Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Manitoba and British Columbia, n.d., 0.1 m (Vols. 1069-1070). The series also includes ten pages containing Oaths of Allegiance and Oaths of Office of Justices of the Peace in the Northwest Territories, 1884-1896, (Vol. 1070).
