This is a preliminary record, please consult the linked accessions. Series consists of records relating to the activities of the provincial and federal governments with regard to blindness allowance investigations. Included in the records are reports, inquiries, and other correspondence concerning blindness allowance means tests carried out at both the federal and provincial level. The files themselves contain special reports of inquiries concerning blindness with information concerning the extent of the applicant's disability, history of the case, results of physical examination, and reports on eye condition. In addition, scattered throughout most of the files one will discover results of Blind Persons Allowance Investigation carried on by the welfare departments in the various provinces included under the Act.
