Scope and content

Series consists of 18 prints, offset lithograph postcards: 1 booklet of postcards of Jasper Park; and 17 postcards including 4 views of Vancouver, 1946, 12 views of Gaspe, n.d., 1 view of the Windsor Hotel, n.d. The series also contains 1 portrait, photomechanical reproduction, 87.3 x 60 cm, of William Lyon Mackenzie King, after work by Frank Salisbury. In addition, the series includes 1 charcoal & white chalk bust length portrait of Mackenzie King by Frank Salisbury, signed and dated 12 June 1937. This work was apparently done while Prime Minister King was in London attending the coronation of King George VI.

Additional information

Received from auction houses which were subsequently added to the William Lyon Mackenzie King fonds. The postcards were transferred from the textual records but their provenance can no longer be traced.

Five smaller copies exist of the print of portrait of William Lyon Mackenzie King by Frank Salisbury.
