The accession consists of Electoral district case files relating to the 1992 Referendum. The accession includes examples of Official Documentation files for four different ridings and all Writs. Box 1 contains Electoral District case file samples and 1992 Referendum Writs. Box 2 contains 1992 Referendum Writs from all Electoral Disricts. Two referendums were held on 26 October 1992: one in all of Canada, except Quebec, under federal auspices and one in Quebec under that province's jurisdiction. The question asked in the 1992 referendums: "Do you agree that the Constitution of Canada should be renewed on the basis of the agreement reached on August 28, 1992?" The results were as follows: All of Canada, except Quebec YES: 45.7%, NO: 54.3%; Quebec: YES: 43.3%, NO: 56.7%. Deux référendums ont été tenus le 26 octobre 1992 : un référendum fédéral dans tout le Canada, sauf au Québec, et un référendum au Québec, tenu par cette province.
