Additional information
This accession consists of personal immigration case files for persons who were given landed status. The files deal with sponsorship and undertaking of assistance to immigrants, and contain applications for permanent residence or refugee status, records of landing, permits to come into and remain in Canada, the guarantor's financial status report and other supporting documentation.
The files were maintained by Employment and Immigration Canada in an Ontario Canada Immigration Centre. The files in this accession range in number from 3296-XY-00009 to 3296-XY-10259. The "XY" in the file number was used by the Department to indicate that the case file related to Chinese immigration. (Note that "Chinese" was apparently used rather broadly, extending to much of East Asia).
