Scope and content

The series consists of three sub-series: Correspondence (1934-1951), Subject Files (1932-1953), and Photographs (1918-1964). The series consists of files covering Shoyama's early life and career, spanning his years at secondary school, at the University of British Columbia, work on The New Canadian, work with the Economic and Advisory Planning Board in Saskatchewan, and studies at McGill University. The series includes two oversize files of issues of The New Canadian.
