Series consists of invitations and correspondence created or received by Kate Drinkwater (née Knight), wife of Richard John Sumner Drinkwater, during her youth. The letters are mainly love letters written by Kate Knight to R.J.S. Drinkwater during their courtship and engagement. There is also a letter from Kate's mother (M.A. Knight) to Richard's mother (Sarah (Hallen) Drinkwater) introducing herself prior to their children's marriage. Also included in this series is a diary of M.A. Knight. The latter contains only brief, point-form entries.
