Scope and content
The sub-sub-series comprises two travel logs of Robert Hume's visit to Canada and the United States in 1837 and 1838. The logs were apparently written up from his diaries for these years (probably after his return to England) and possibly intended for publication. Some entries at the end of the second log were added later in his life and unrelated to his travels in 1837 and 1838. They consist of general expenses, notes of produce from crops, farm livestock, inventory and stock on hand.
