Scope and content

This work is painted after a photograph. The only known T. Horsburgh found in biographical dictionaries is a T. Horsburgh, a Scottish 19th-century engraver. A Victor Daniel Horsburgh, artist, was born in Edinburgh in 1867 and died in Toronto in 1947, and may have been a son, but little more research has been completed.
