Scope and content
A l'origine, on a intitulé cette aquarelle « Le pont Kings, au-dessus de la rivière Welland, au fort Chippewa ». On sait maintenent qu'il s'agit d'une copie de l'oeuvre de Heriot exécutée vers 1801, « Village chippewa, près des chutes Niagara », qui appartient à la Kennedy Galleries de New York (voir le livre de G. Finley « George Heriot: Postmaster-Painter of the Canadas », p. 243, no 92).
