Scope and content

This drawing is reproduced in Edward Roper's "By Track and Trail, A Journey Through Canada" (London, 1891), facing p.375.
There is a pen and ink illustration on the verso of the secondary support which is largely covered by a backing sheet. This illustration is half of a design for the title page of "By Track and Trail". The other half of the design is on the verso of the secondary support of accession number 1989-176-51. Roper rejected the design and reused the cardboard, cutting it in half.
