John Webber was the official artist for James Cook's Third Voyage (1776-1780) from the South Seas to the West Coast of North America. This image appears in the book of plates, companion to the second edition of the Journal of Captain Cook and James King, A Voyage to the Pacific Ocean...three volumes (I and II by Cook, III by King), published in 1785 by William Strahan in New Street, Shoe Lane and Thomas Cadell in the Strand, London, England. Printed by H. Hughes. This image is plate number 15.
