John Webber was the official artist for Captain James Cook's Third Voyage (1776-1780) from the South Seas to the West Coast of North America. This image appears in the companion book of plates to the second edition of the Journal by Captains James Cook and James King, A Voyage to the Pacific Ocean...., in three volumes [I and II by Cook, III by King], published in 1785 by William Strahan in New Street, Shoe Lane, and by Thomas Cadell in the Strand, London, England [and printed by H. Hughes]. This image is plate number 57.
Depicts the canoes and fishing materials used by the natives, and two hut-like structures.
