Scope and content

This is an American Art Union print after a painting by Asher B. Durand of the 1840s.
The Thompson Album consists of 468 pages on most of which are glued down watercolours, prints and drawings dating from the 1830s to the 1880s. The Album was probably maintained by a member of the family of Sir John Sparrow David Thompson, fourth Prime Minister of Canada.
