Scope and content
This image has been cropped to the image and title with lines of inscription below now missing. It depicts the figure in three-quarter length facing right and wearing ceremonial dress, sword and full-bottom wig. The background is a pattern wall, a palister and view of trees, river and mountains. A version of the Lely painting is in the National Maritime Museum, London, another is in Windsor Castle.
