Scope and content

This group represented the second historic group at the Historical Fancy Dress Ball hosted by Lord and Lady Aberdeen on February 17th, 1896. Eight members of this group performed the "Pavane" at the ball. Front row: Mr. Barwell; Miss White, in green velvet; Mrs. S.H. Fleming as "Mistress Cabot"; Miss Mackintosh in blue moiré silk with a diamond tiara; Miss Ritchie as "Signora de Soncino"; Miss Griffin, also in green velvet. Centre: Alexander Burgess as "Henry VII." Back row: Miss Cambie; C. Mackintosh as "Sebastian Cabot"; Miss A. Ritchie; Julius Lay; Jim Smellie as a "Micmac Chief": Mr. Haultain; J.A. Ritchie; Mr. McKay; Agar Adamson as "Signor de Soncino."
