old-age pension paid in the Dominion of Canada, being presented to W.H. Derby, old-time pioneer of the province, in the office of the government agent for the
Alberni District. Mr. Neill, who took a prominent part in securing the passage of the legislation, and Mr. Burde, who sponsored the first legislation passed
in the Legislature of British Columbia, are also interested participators in the historic little event."
The cheque was made out by the Old Age Pensions Department of the Workmen's compensation Board. The cheque is dated 20 September 1927.
