Scope and content

The accession consist of approximately 40, 000 Census Reference Maps which present the standard geographic areas for which census data are available. The maps show the boundaries, names and codes of the areas on an underlying base of major roads and water features, allowing users to relate census data to actual physical locations. The Reference Maps are available for geographical areas that range in size and population.

The preliminary finding aid is a speadsheet showing a box and container list generally arranged according to the census map series. The box lists identifies the range of items by place name or NTS sheet contained within most folders and tubes (Electronic)
