Scope and content
This series consists of records generated in support of the corporate management function carried out by Industry Canada. This function comprises all processes and activities which span, facilitate, or fall between Industry Canada's two primary functions of regulation of the marketplace and encouraging economic growth. These records document Industry Canada's role within the broader Government of Canada context, how the department fulfills its legislated mandate, and how the department engages with the Canadian body politic. The corporate management function consists of the sub-functions of strategic direction (decision-making at the highest levels with Industry Canada, including co-ordination of the Industry portfolio), communications, corporate governance (compliance with formal governance and accountability framework) and liaison (leadership in strategic initiatives).
