Scope and content
This sub-sub series consists of files on members of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. The files were opened after the London Headquarters of Militia and Defence became the independent Ministry of the Overseas Military Forces of Canada (OMFC) in October 1916. The files contain documents relating to the service of individual soldiers and nursing sisters. There is also the occasional file for employees of the OMFC and for civilians with whom the ministry had contact. File were only opened for those service personnel who were brought to the attention of the OMFC. There are approximately 7500 files in the series.

Textual records The finding aid's file level descriptions can be accessed through the consists of fields in the MIKAN record. A paper copy is also available in the Reference room. The paper finding aid is a handwritten list of the files arranged alphabetically by name and then sequentially within each letter of the alphabet.
