Scope and content

This series contains 127 glass plate negatives of mostly agricultural and rural scenes around Canada. Some photographs depict Inuit communities in Labrador. Also, there are a few photographs taken in Ottawa on Parliament Hill. Six photographs are seated portraits of Narcisse F. Belleau, Sir John A. Macdonald, John Sandfield Macdonald, Allan MacNab and George-Étienne Cartier. There is also a photograph of Louis Riel and the Provisional Government of the Métis Nation in 1870. In the remaining unidentified photographs there are images of the Canadian Army Dental Corps and people engaged in recreational activities like camping, swimming and picnicking.

Photographs in this series were most likely removed from the Topley B series as they were unidentified and unnumbered. These items were numbered with the prefix "TX-B" or "TXB" as a separate group.
