Scope and content

This series contains 737 photographs of rural, urban, and agricultural scenes in Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Québec and Ontario. There are also photographs of people outdoors, including several of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his family during their visit to Canada in 1914, in addition to farmers and children in rural areas. The series also contains photographs of Grand Trunk Pacific (G.T.P.) Railway lines, offices and crew members in Alberta and British Columbia.

2. The S likely stands for "Stock," in that these photographs were likely used for commercial purposes. As they came from the "D" series, these photographs were termed as "SD".
