Additional information

This accession consists for the most part of individual Chinese immigration case files created in the Vancouver Metro Immigration Centre. The files are numbered in the CH, CH-1 and P-CH ranges. The bulk of the material is dated in the decade of the 1960's but a significant quantity, particularly in the earlier files, was created well before World War II. These files do not have index cards filed integrally. While the vast majority of these files are for individual immigrants, normally to B.C., a few files in the early boxes cover such non-individual subjects as Native-born Chinese and the New Republic newspaper.
