Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the British Columbia Regional Office of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and its predecessors. Predecessors include the Babine District, Terrace District, Gitksan Carrier District, Cowichan Agency, South Island District, Nanaimo District, Fort St. John District, Fort St. John Service Centre, Kwawkewlth Agency, Campbell River District, Nicola Agency, Thompson River District, Central Interior District, Stuart Lake Agency, Lakes District, Prince George District, Skeena River Agency, Northwest District, New Westminster Agency, Vancouver Agency, Fraser Agency, Fraser District, Vancouver District, Williams Lake Agency, and Williams Lake District. Accession includes, but is not limited to records relating to: loans; estates; statistics, including vital statistics, and band and regional information sheets; natural resources, including fishing, sand and gravel, commercial and recreational development, fur conservation, traplines, mining, oil and gas, timber, wildlife; farming, including weed control, and land clearing; organization, including district and regional office establishment; arts and crafts; and law enforcement, including taxation. These records are held at the Pacific Regional Service Centre in Burnaby, B.C.
