Scope and content

Margaret MacGregor was a grandaughter of Sir John Thompson and a niece of Col. John Thompson. Sub-series documents part of the custodial history of the Sir John Thompson papers. The sub-series consists of correspondence from Col. John T.C. Thompson, son of Sir John Thompson regarding the custody of his fathers papers and his wish to donate them to the National Archives. The sub-series also includes two photonegatives documenting the transfer of Sir John Thompson's papers to Margaret MacGregor.
