Sub-series consists of records reflecting Simon Abraham Goldberg's various positions within the Dominion Bureau of Statistics, including the Research and Development Division and the Integration Division. Included are papers from other members of Statistics Canada staff, including Robert Hamilton Coats, and Herbert Marshall; information from/on various Statistics Canada divisions; estimates and program review; conferences, including the International Statistical Institute, British Commonwealth Statistics Conference; and the census.

Biographie / Histoire administrative

Simon Abraham Goldberg joined the Dominion Bureau of Statistics at the end of the second world war as a National Income Statistician. In 1950, he became Director of the Research and Development Division and in 1954 the Assistant Dominion Statistician, Integration. In 1967, Goldberg's role changed slightly as he became Assistant Dominion Statistician, Integration and Development Staff. He served in this role until 1972, when he became the Director of the United Nations Statistical Office.
