This files contains data collected as a supplement to Statistics Canada's monthly Labour Force survey to provide information on retirement in Canada including early retirement, adjustment to retirement, poverty, the social, economic and health related conditions necessary for a satisfying life in retirement, and expectations concerning retirement. Those who had ceased full-time work and did not intend to work in the near future completed a "retirement" questionnaire. The remainder received a "pre-retirement" questionnaire. The variables in each file contain information on, for example, retirement timing, methods, reasons, preparation, preferences and opinions, work knowledge and relevance of government programs, time use and quality of life in retirement.
