Biographie / Histoire administrative
In 1971, the constitution of the interpartmental committee (and five study groups or working parties) reported to the Cabinet Committee on Social Policy to examine the recommendations of the report, the feasibility of their implementation and the time-frames within which action could be taken by the federal government in the context of a global policy and strategy on the status of women in Canada (1971). The implementation committee was to have representation from the departments and agencies whose mandate was directly affected by the recommendations of the RCSW with other departments being invited as required and was to be chaired by the Privy Council Office (by the Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet, Operations, as determined by the "Ways and Means" confirmation of Cabinet of 25 February 1971 but was transferred subsequently to the senior Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet on 1 December 1971).
