There are four other National Archives sources of lists of names and other information on juvenile immigrants to Canada in the period 1865 to ca. 1953.

First, finding aid 76-40 is a preliminary chronological list of ships' manifests listing juvenile immigrant groups, for sailings from 1870-1899. It includes about 180 ships, and is in chronological order by date of the ships' arrival in Canada (i.e. at the ports of Quebec and Halifax). A more complete version of this lists is in preparation (see the cover sheet for finding aid 76-26 for details).

Second, the ships' manifests themselves, (MIKAN 134840, RG76-C-1-a), contain the names and other personal information on child immigrants. See the finding aids to that sub-series.

Third, individual central registry subject files in the First central registry system sub-series (MIKAN 134829, RG76-B-1-a), on dealings between the Immigration service and specific child immigrant organizations, often contain lists of names. Some of these files are indexed in the Soundex index (RG76-C-4-b), but others are not.

Fourth, the unnumbered finding aid "Guide to Records of Juvenile Immigration in the Government Archives Division" lists most of the CR files mentioned above and gives other historical and bibliographical information. This guide is available from the archivist responsible for immigration records in GARDD.

These records were filmed by the Department during the 1950's and 1960's under microfilm authority M6-62. The originals were then destroyed.
