Series consists of records created and maintained by the Northwest Territories Superintendency. The records include the following: a book of tenders, 1886-1900 (Vol. 1144); tenders for supplies, 1887-1890 (Vol. 1304); a register recording vouchers issued, 1906- 1909 (Vol. 1303); and a book of issues recording the disbursement of supplies, 1887-1893, for the Alberta region (Vol. 1681).

Biographie / Histoire administrative

The Northwest Territories Superintendency was created ca. May 1876 and comprised basically that area which is now the Provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta, as well as Keewatin and other areas under federal control and outside the Province of Manitoba. The Superintendency offices moved from Regina to Winnipeg in 1897. RG10 General Inventory and finding aid 10-12: Guide to Indian Bands and Agencies in Western Canada, 1871-1959.
