Biographie / Histoire administrative

The bands in the vicinity of Saddle Lake, Alberta, in the Treaty 6 region were first administered by an agent based in Edmonton. The area was subsequently divided and the eastern portion became known as the Victoria Agency. This name was changed in June 1887 to Saddle Lake Agency. In 1967 the Athabaska and the Saddle Lake Agencies merged to form the Saddle Lake/Athabaska District Office. Finding aid 10-12: Guide to Indian Bands and Agencies in Western Canada, 1871-1959.
