Biographie / Histoire administrative
Following the creation of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development in 1966, agencies were joined to form larger administrative units called districts. The Blackfoot and the Stoney-Sarcee Agencies were amalgamated in 1969 to become the Blackfoot/Stoney-Sarcee District. The district office was created to assist in the administration of various bands in Northern Alberta. At that time, these bands included the following: Blackfoot; Stony Chiniguay; Sarcee; Sunchild Cree; O'Chiese; Stony Bearspaw; Stony Wesley.
