Textual records: The finding aid consist of volume number, file number, file part, title and outside dates. On the microfilm, some files are split across reels, but are not so noted in the listing. If researchers do not find the file they require on a particular reel, they are advised to consult the previous and/or the subsequent reel. 13-53 66 (Électronique)

The records in this accession consist of central registry files containing legal opinions prepared by the Department of Justice. Opinions typically result from an inquiry from another government department or agency, on any matter requiring a legal interpretation, including legislation, regulations, and government liabilities or responsibilities.

Historique de la conservation
Boxes 146 and 147, containing the 142 reels of microfilm, were temporarily returned to the Department of Justice on 2000-10-13 in order to have a quality assurance check performed by Xebec microfilming. The reels were returned to the National Archives, Government Records Branch, on 2000-10-26. File 9-196398 of box 146 was originally in box 86.
