Series consists of "D" system registry files created by the Corporate Policy Branch of Indian and Northern Affairs. These records were created as a distinct series but the files contain information which compliments similar subjects in the Administration "A" series and Indian and Inuit Affairs "E" series. The Corporate Policy Branch maintained its own file system and did not make use of the Central Registry office. Once Corporate Policy was closed in 1992 the records were turned over to the staff of the Central Registry office and the "D" designation was assigned to distinguish these files from the parallel "A" and "E" systems. The subject matter covers a variety of topics including administration of the department and in particular files relating to policy and organizational changes. Other files contain information about acts and legislation, committees, human rights, parliamentary affairs and management services. (NO PERMANENT VOLUMES IN THIS SERIES)

The Corporate Policy Branch maintained its own file system and did not make use of the Central Registry office. The branch was responsible for policy and organizational changes related to the administration of the department. Corporate Policy was closed in 1992.
