Information additionnelle

This accession consists of textual operational records created and/or maintained by the Manitoba Regional Office as well as from The Pas District Office (formed in 1966 with the amalgamation of the Nelson River and The Pas Agencies) between 1949-1968. The records are grouped by originating office, including those from The Pas Agency and a file from the Nelson River Agency, presumably inherited by The Pas District Office. Subjects covered by operational files include but are not limited to the following: School Buildings; Band Management; Reports and Returns; Indian Education; and Welfare of Indians. The files are arranged according to the department's old modified duplex numeric system; records from the Nelson River Agency, The Pas Agency, and from the Manitoba Regional Office in Winnipeg utilize the "old" agency codes (128, 138, and 217 respectively), while a small number of records from The Pas District Office utilize the "new" education codes (521).
