This accession consists of five different categories of case files. Boxes 497213-497237 (twenty-five boxes) consist of "thin" adjudication case files for 1983 as described in accessions 85-86/465, 85-86/479 and 85-86/480. Boxes 497204-497212 (9 boxes) contain a mixture of cases of individuals who either claimed or were awarded refugee status or cases which were appealed to the Immigration Appeal Board and Federal Court of Canada (Federal Court of Appeal), 1977-1983. None of these files has a distinguishing type of file number but may be identified in some cases by a note on the file jacket. Boxes 497239-497241 contain documents prepared for cases appealed to the Federal Court of Canada (Federal Court of Appeal). They are described in accession 85-86/479. There is no file number quoted inside these files to make an easy cross-reference to the adjudication files described above. The final category is one box (497238) of stenographic notes (shorthand) for various hearings.
