The Canadian Children's Book Centre
The Canadian Children's Book Centre (CCBC) is a national, not-for-profit organization founded in 1976 to encourage the reading, writing and illustrating of Canadian children's books. The CCBC is dedicated to promoting quality Canadian children's literature in English through our services, publications and programs. The CCBC is a vital resource for writers, illustrators, librarians, teachers, students, publishers, booksellers, and parents.
The CCBC offers:
- Resource libraries of Canadian children's books and reference materials, in five provinces
- Publications including recommended booklists, author and illustrator biographies, a 'how to get published' guide and classroom/library programming ideas
- TD Canadian Children's Book Week, an annual celebration of Canadian children's books, featuring authors, illustrators and storytellers touring across the country
- Websites with information about and links to Canadian children's books and their creators, publishers, bookstores and book awards
- Full reference services by phone, fax or email to all CCBC members
