Sir Sam Hughes, Minister of Militia and Defence, to Sir Robert Laird Borden, Prime Minister of Canada, November 1, 1916
Unaccustomed to being contradicted as he had been by Borden’s letter of October 31, Hughes tried in turn to set Borden straight.
