In November 2000, Jean Chrétien led his party to a third successive majority government. He is the first prime minister to do so since Mackenzie King, more than 50 years earlier. Only two prime ministers, John A. Macdonald and Wilfrid Laurier, have managed to win four consecutive majorities. |
