Canada - Take it to Heart

Growing Together Week February 12-19, 1996

In all regions of Canada, Canadians young and old take pride in our country, our citizenship and our collective sense of identity. In our communities and among family, friends and neighbours, Canadians recognize symbols, values and ideals that link us together. We have inherited a nation that is the envyof the world - a nation built on understanding, respect and diversity.

Between February 12 and 19, people throughout this country had a chance to show how they "take Canada to heart". It is all part of Canadians coming together to recognize and celebrate National Citizenship Week, the anniversary of the Canadian Flag (February 15) and Heritage Day (February 19).
