Special Detective Cases. Vol. 3, no. 18 (May 1945)

Covers featuring a splash of blood usually helped magazines sell, and this tinted watercolour illustration is a fine example. Special Detective Cases was another of the true crime pulps that claimed "every story true." The interior stories were illustrated using crime scene and newspaper photos and courtroom sketches of people involved in the cases.
