Language

Today the French in Canada differs slightly from the French spoken in France. It also differs from the French spoken by present-day Acadians.

Religion

Every Sunday, families would go to their parish church, which was Roman Catholic. At church they would enjoy meeting up with their friends and neighbours. Not only were they there to worship, but also to trade news with each other and to hear the announcements from the governor or bishop that were read in church.
