Littlebury, Arthur Hugh Rowland.
LIFE DATES: 1871 03 01-1945 11 01.
BIRTHPLACE: England, UK.
PLACE OF DEATH: Vancouver.
WHERE/WHEN ACTIVE: Calgary, AB/ca. 1923; Vancouver/1930-1931; 1935-1936.
HOME ADDRESS/YEAR: 2281 West 5/1929; 2-1166 Alberni/1930; 1166 Alberni/1931; 3522 McGill/1935-1936; 315 Cambie/1937; 3-6 East 13/1939; 1675 West 14/1945.
STATUS: Commercial.
Arthur's parents, listed on his death certificate, were Joseph Littlebury and Ellen Elsey. Littlebury appears to have moved to Vancouver from Calgary. Listed as a printer in the 1929 business directory, he worked as a photographer, possibly for himself, and then for two years (1935-1936) with Cyril R. Littlebury. Arthur returned to the printing trade by 1940 according to his death certificate. Based on business directory listings Arthur appears to have been married to Helen H. Littlebury in the late 1920s, but they were divorced by 1930 and living at different addresses. He died in Vancouver General Hospital from complications following a fall at the Carefree Haven private hospital; he was buried at Ocean View Cemetery, Burnaby, on November 5, 1945. According to the Coroner's Inquiry he was survived by a brother, "C.B. Littlebury of Worcestershire, England."
COLLECTIONS: BVIPA (Bordertown Collection, accession 198411-001); OOA (Andrew Merrilees collection, accession 1980-149). Unknown whether either BVIPA or OOA photographs are by Arthur or Cyril Littlebury.
IDENTIFYING MARKS: The uppercase letter L with a circle around it on print surface (BVIPA F-06548 / CP-90, dated October 20, 1923, and F-06549 / CP-91, dated ca. 1920; both photographs taken in Calgary, AB). Unknown whether these are photographs by Arthur or Cyril Littlebury.

Littlebury, Cyril R.
WHERE/WHEN ACTIVE: Calgary?, AB/1917?-1923?; Vancouver/1935-1936.
HOME ADDRESS/YEAR: 2281 West 5/1929; 3522 McGill/1935-1936.
STATUS: Commercial.
Cyril Littlebury appears to have moved to Vancouver from Calgary, possibly with Arthur. The relationship between the two is unknown. Cyril is listed as printer in the 1929 business directory at the same residential address as Arthur. Cyril and Arthur probably worked together as photographers in 1935-1936. For a possible familial relationship between the two men, see the entry for A.R.H. Littlebury.
