Supporting Canadian Families: New Support for Families, Caregivers, Canadians with Disabilities and Seniors
History

Whether it’s Canada’s national flag, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Medicare or Canada’s founding role with the United Nations, the Liberal Party of Canada has always been at the forefront of shaping the philosophy and destiny of Canada.

In recent years we have continued Canada’s role as a leader by creating a national child care program, achieving the strongest economy in the G-8 and ratifying the Kyoto accord.

From the early democratic reformers Papineau and Mackenzie to international statesmen like Laurier and Pearson to judicial innovators like St. Laurent and Trudeau, Liberals have been essential in shaping Canada and its contribution to the world.
